Sterzing / Rosskopf
The Wipptal Valley runs from North Tyrol to South Tyrol, from Innsbruck over the Brenner Pass all the way down to Franzensfeste. And about in the geographical center of this valley, there is the city of Sterzing and the ski resorts of Rosskopf, Ratschings, Gossensass, Ladurns and Pflersch.
Sterzing: the lively center at the feet of Mt. Rosskopf
Wide treeless hills in front of a stunning mountain setting create a thrilling ski resort. Sterzing is the very lively center of the Wipptal Valley and lies at the feet of Mt. Rosskopf. The pedestrian zone in the picturesque historic city centre is very worth- visiting and invites you to shopping-tours or to try out the restaurants and cafés.
Directly at the outskirts of Sterzing there is the Valley Station of the cable car. Having reached the peak of Mt Rosskopf, you will find a lot of easy and medium difficult ski runs.
Last but not least, we also want to mention the ski resort of Ratschings, also situated in the surroundings of Sterzing. Ratschings is the biggest ski resort of the Wipptal Valley. You can reach it via Bichl.
Christmas Markets in Sterzig
In the historic center of Sterzig you will find the warmth of being together at the Christmas Market from 30th November 2008 to 6th January 2009. Among stalls and shows, the Christmas Market in Sterzig offers unique emotions.
