Ski holidays on Mt. Kronplatz
Mt. Kronplatz is the leading ski resort in South Tyrol: perfect slopes on over 100 km, modern
and comfortable lifts and, last but not least, the best machines
for making artificial snow. What else do you want?
Worth mentioning is also the 360° view from the
summit of Mt. Kronplatz (2275 m): you can see the
Dolomites and the Main Alpine Crest.
Around Mt. Kronplatz there are 13 holiday locations. Together they
build the "Ferienregion Kronplatz". The city of Bruneck is the
center of the holiday destination Kronplatz.
Bruneck and surroundings
Bruneck is situated at the feed of Mt.
Kronplatz. Neighboring villages are Olang, Reischach and St. Vigil. From these 3 villages you can reach
Mt. Kronplatz and its slopes by cable car. The ski runs are mostly
easy and family-friendly, but also expert skiers
will find some challenges: for instance on the slopes "Silvester",
"Hernegg" or "Picculein". For lunch or a short stop over there are
30 huts and mountain restaurants.
Snow-shoe hikers, however, can book tours with
mountain guides.
Christmas Markets in Bruneck
If you want to spend a special Christmas you have to visit the
Christmas Market of Bruneck from 28th November 2008 to 6th
January 2009. Here you can buy works of local art and
taste the dishes of the area listening to the songs of
Christmas.
