Ski holidays in Allgäu
Allgäu – situated in the most south-western corner of the
Bavarian Alps - is a very special place: the locals speak a really kind of special dialect, which hasn’t much to do with the standard German language.
A highlight you shouldn’t miss is surely the
big bonfire on the first Sunday after Ash Wednesday. People light up big wooden witches to chase away the winter and to welcome the spring. This tradition can’t be found anywhere else, only in
Vorarlberg in Austria there is a similar tradition.
