Dachstein-West and Lammertal Valley
The ski resort Dachstein-West and Lammertal Valley is 30 km from Salzburg and surprises with its great opportunities for winter sport lovers. In this ski resort mostly families and "normal" skiers will feel at ease.
Golling is the gate to Dachstein-West and the Lammertal Valley. Spending a holiday here means to have a nice choice of skiing areas and ski runs just a stone’s throw away from your accommodation.
Powder snow fans can find some deep snow areas, and for free-stylers there are extensive parks. Cozy huts and refuges also contribute to the well-being and happiness of skiers and snowboarders.
The small mountain villages in Lammertal Valley are especially interesting for families. They offer a lot of family-friendly accommodation, fun and entertainment. The main venue is Abtenau.
For experienced skiers, who want to let off steam, there are suitable ski runs to be found on Mount Karkogel. There is for example the precipitous FIS-world-championship-slope called "Alexandra Meissnitzer Ski-Run", after the double-world-champion of Vail (USA) in 1999.
